As a Security Architect, you'll play a key role in safeguarding our information and systems from unauthorized use, disclosure, modification, damage, or loss. You'll work with teams across the organization to protect the value of our information through collaboration, standardization, enforcement, and education.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Delivering a top-tier cybersecurity program.
  • Developing reference architectures to address common security requirements and mitigate trends, while promoting best practices.
  • Leading threat modeling efforts and partnering with technical teams to integrate security requirements into solutions.
  • Conducting security architecture reviews of applications and platforms in complex multi-cloud and multi-vendor environments.
  • Providing expert guidance to technical teams during the design stages of their projects.

  • Be accountable for delivering high-quality work, with thorough documentation and consistent assessments.
  • Work as part of a dynamic and vibrant team to drive the business forward while adhering to Starbucks' guiding principles.
We're looking for candidates who have:
  • 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity (3 years of which should be in a cybersecurity role).
  • A solid understanding of various cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, CSA) and risk assessment practices.
  • Experience with public cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and knowledge of serverless and containerized environments.
  • Familiarity with security issues including encryption, API security, and best practices for handling secrets.
  • The ability to analyze and improve security architecture tools for better development processes.
  • Exceptional communication skills to build cross-functional relationships.
  • Certifications like CISSP, CISM, or other relevant credentials in information security are highly preferred.
