Job Description

About this Opportunity:

This is an excellent chance to join the Securities & Asset Management Legal team (SAML) on a permanent basis. Our team works closely with the Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) business area of Lloyds Banking Group, supporting clients in the UK and overseas.

We handle a variety of client debt capital markets transactions, including securitisations, covered bonds, bond issuance, private placements, green bonds, social housing bonds, structured products, liability management exercises, and high yield bonds. We seek a qualified lawyer to provide expert advice on securitisation transactions across various asset classes, from structuring to launch. You will also have opportunities to learn about other debt capital markets transactions.

This role supports the growth of this strategic area for the Group. You will report to the Head of Legal of SAML and collaborate with the team and business colleagues across Legal & Secretariat (L&S).

If you're looking to develop your knowledge and career, this role offers a friendly, dedicated legal team that works closely with the business to achieve excellent customer outcomes.

About you

You should:

  • Have a broad understanding and experience of securitisations and interest in other debt capital markets transactions.
  • Be capable of providing sound, commercial legal advice, and work well both independently and in teams.
  • Build trust and influence others, grow networks, and collaborate across teams.
  • Be innovative, willing to challenge, build consensus, and support colleagues.
  • Be passionate about your development and interested in ESG, Data, Tech Advances, and Digitalisation.
Background

You must hold a current practising certificate. Ideally, you have at least 4 years of post-qualification experience in securitisation law, gained in private practice or in-house, with a strong understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks. Transferable skills and a serious interest in development are also considered.

We support your growth through training, feedback, and career development opportunities.

  • Annual bonus, subject to performance
  • Share schemes and free shares
  • Flexible benefits like discounted shopping
  • 30 days' holiday plus bank holidays
  • Wellbeing initiatives and parental leave policies

If interested, please apply with an updated CV and a short cover letter explaining your suitability for the role. We look forward to hearing from you.
