We have an exciting opportunity for a
Section Manager - Software Engineering and DevOpsto join the team.
The
Section Manager - Software Engineering and DevOpswill:
- Report to the JETS Spacecraft Analytics, Software, & Services Group Manager
- Demonstrate a Servant/Leader approach to management
- Manage, supervise, and administratively direct the activities of employees in the Software Engineering and DevOps Section
- Approving timecards on a weekly basis
- Reviewing and approving travel requests
- Resolve employee performance issues
- Recruit, interview, and assess potential candidates
- Ensure personnel are recognized for accomplishments
- Promote a culture of caring and safety
- Interface with NASA Software Engineering Leads & Software Engineering oversight teams to determine near- and long-term tasks, priorities, schedules, upgrades, improvements, and reporting items
- Maintain a positive, constructive, professional relationship with the NASA customers and other NASA support contractors
- Conduct routine customer project reviews for cost, schedule, risk management, and deliverable adherence
- Assist with the management (creation, coordination and revision) of scope, cost, schedule and risk for government contract task orders
- Maintain active risk management (technical, cost, and schedule) on all projects and work functions
- Manage and monitor cost plans, estimates and actuals
- Establish daily and weekly task priorities and resource assignments, direct the software staff, and resolve schedule and resource issues as they arise
- Ensure employees in functional areas follow established procedures and generate finished work products under time and budgetary constraints
- Communicate the status of ongoing activities to customers and management.
- Communicate project status to senior JETS management
- Demonstrate excellent communication, collaboration, and coordination skills
- Ensure proper task reporting
- Work in a fast-paced, Agile environment
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
- Perform other duties as assigned or as required
