Position Purpose: Join our Med/Surg team at Holy Cross Health, where you'll support departmental operations and patient care through effective communication, clerical assistance, and limited clinical support. Your role will help ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment while upholding the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Health.
What You Will Do: - Serve as the central point of contact at the nurse's station, answering calls and greeting all visitors
- Give and receive shift reports to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain accurate and updated nurse station whiteboards
- Schedule diagnostics, treatments, therapies, and transportation per direction, ensuring timely follow-up
- Document patient transfers and discharges within 15 minutes of departure
- Operate communication systems and relay messages as needed
- Perform clerical duties and provide support to nursing staff as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a unit secretary, health unit coordinator (HUC), administrative partner, or CNA
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluent in English
- Visual and auditory acuity; ability to distinguish colors
- Medical secretary training certificate preferred

Pay rate: $17.58- $22.71
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
