QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma, Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and training considered.
3-5 years experience in responsible secretarial/clerical position.
Supplemental specialized secretarial courses desired.
Proficient in typing and computer skills including database,
spreadsheet, desktop publishing, and word processing.
Twelve month position.
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF PUPIL PERSONNEL SERVICES
JOB GOAL: Responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Pupil Personnel Office and creating a positive environment for the education of children.
Performance Responsibilities: - Performs the routine operations of the Pupil Personnel Office;
- Collects the psychological, re-evaluations, screening reports, social histories and reports by psychologists, diagnosticians and social workers;
- Obtains, organizes and types information for nurses, speech & language pathologists and all other PPS personnel upon request;
- Compiles and completes all state reports including student reimbursement and child count reports;
- Performs various special education duties including maintaining records of student seclusion/restraints, 504 Plans and maintaining current special education data base;
- Process requisition orders for PPS personnel;
- Maintains office inventory including distribution of supplies for nurses and PPS personnel;
- Maintains monthly/yearly reports;
- Maintains student records as required by the Illinois State Board of Education, including I-STAR state database;
- Process student special education records' requests;
- Assists in compiling, maintaining, and filing records legally required or administratively useful;
- Scheduling location for professional development for PPS personnel;
- Maintains Special Education ESY attendance records and communicates class listing with transportation;
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Performs in a confidential manner all assigned tasks involving students and personnel;
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve month (260/261 days) Classified position with salary and hours to be established by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions established by the Board of Education.
SALARY: AII - $22.00 per hour
