About NAEHD: The National Alliance on Ending Health Disparities (NAEHD) is a newly established organization with a mission to support and empower individuals, healthcare professionals, and decision makers through research, education, and advocacy efforts to eliminate health disparities in all communities. NAEHD aims to serve as a collective voice for all stakeholders, ensuring that everyone with a vested interest has a seat at the table and an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our mission in an effort to end health disparities.

About the Secretary's role: The purpose of this role is to maintain accurate records of the organization's board activities and ensure effective communication and compliance within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
    • Assist the Board President in preparing meeting agendas
    • Accurately record and distribute minutes from all board meetings.
    • Maintain and safeguard all key documents, including organizational bylaws, policies, and meeting records.
    • Ensure timely communication with board members regarding meetings decisions and follow-up actions.
Time Commitment: The expectation is that the Secretary will commit at least 5 hours a month while the organization is still growing. The Secretary will be expected to attend required board meetings, and other external events representing the organization. As NAEHD develops, the Secretary may be occasionally expected to provide additional support beyond the 5-hour monthly commitment to the Founder/CEO and Board President.

Ideal Qualifications:
    • A commitment to the mission of eliminating health disparities.
    • Exceptional organizational and writing skills.
    • Ability to manage details and maintain confidentiality.
    • Experience in project management is a plus
    • Experience in record-keeping or non-profit compliance is a plus.
    • Experience in previously serving as a secretary is a plus.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with board members, staff, leadership, and stakeholders to advance the mission.
