Summary:

Performs all secretarial functions necessary to facilitate the smooth running of the Cardiac Center department, and support to the cardiopulmonary department. This includes: telephone coverage and messages; greeting and registration of patients; scheduling of patients and monitoring of schedules to ensure appropriate patient flow, scheduling of all diagnostic tests and referrals ordered by the physician; reviewing of insurance coverage and collection of patient balances/co-pays, maintenance of medical records; knowledge of and compliance with managed care regulations and the ability to work well with others in a complex, fast paced environment.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION
  • High School or equivalent
  • Associate's Degree in secretarial science or related field preferred
EXPERIENCE
  • One 1 (one) year of secretarial/clerical experience required
  • Five (5) years of secretarial/clerical experience including word processing and filing preferred
