PGS Worldwide is actively seeking a skilled Secret Cleared
Modeling & Simulation Software Engineer to support ongoing projects for an Aerospace leader in Northridge, CA. This is an initial 9-month contract-to-hire opportunity.
In this role, you'll contribute to the ongoing development and integration of simulation models for advanced missile systems. The initial focus will be on
C software development within a multidisciplinary simulation and analysis team.
Responsibilities: - Assist with integrating simulation models into a larger system-of-simulations environment
- Develop and update C -based missile system simulation code
- Support model validation and verification processes
- Write and execute Python scripts for data analysis, automation, or test support
- Work with system engineers and analysts to support system performance evaluations
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (or Master's degree with 0 years)
- Experience programming in C with an object-oriented approach
- Experience scripting with Python, BASH, or DOS
- Familiarity with compiler workflows and build tools such as CMake
- Understanding of distributed computing architectures (Client-Server, n-tier, etc.)
- Solid foundation in physics or engineering principles related to flight dynamics and sensors
- Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance (adjudicated within 5 years) and be eligible for SAP program clearance
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Monte Carlo simulations or high-performance computing environments
- Proficiency with Python data tools (e.g., NumPy, Matplotlib, Pandas) or MATLAB
- Experience in Modeling & Simulation of weapon systems
- Exposure to tools such as AFSIM, CAMEO, or Microsoft Excel for analysis and reporting
- Knowledge of requirements verification and validation
- Experience in operational analysis or flight dynamics modeling
- Active SAP program clearance highly preferred
