Summary of Responsibilities:
The laundry attendant performs multiple tasks ranging from washing and folding laundry items to operating commercial laundry and steam cleaning equipment
Primary Responsibilities and Objectives
Sort linens, towels, clothing, and other laundry items by color, size and material
Wrap laundry items for pick up or delivery to customers and hospitality guests
Wash items with commercial laundry equipment following proper sanitization protocols
Clean and maintain the laundry room area and equipment
Unload laundry from commercial dryers
Stock laundry supplies such as detergent, bleach, laundry bags, and fabric softener
Create laundry tags with identifiable customer information
Create invoices for laundry orders
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED is preferred
At least one year in hospitality or housekeeping is preferred
Skills and Requirements:
Excellent customer service skills when handling customer and guest requests
Physical stamina when remaining stationary for extended periods and moving laundry loads
Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks throughout each shift
Basic math skills for calculating laundry times and counting change for coin-operated machines
Attention to detail when sorting colored items and handling delicate fabrics
Problem-solving skills for addressing customer issues and complaints
Be a team player
Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employment
Scheduling:
Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working outside of business hours, weekends, and non-traditional holidays
May be required to be on-call and aid during times of high demand
Environment:
Exposure to an environment typically found in a hotel or restaurant
Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions
Physical Requirements:
