Job Title: Job Coach

Job Purpose:

Job Coaches play a vital role in guiding and mentoring youth participants through their work experience, starting with orientation prior to the participant's start date. The Job Coach supports youth and adults by fostering their professional development, including navigating supervisor-employee relationships and emphasizing soft-skills growth through one-on-one coaching. The Job Coach will visit the worksite 2-3 times a week to ensure that participants are supported and that their experience is fulfilling. Additionally, the Job Coach works closely with youth participants and worksite supervisors to ensure the accurate entry of payroll information into the electronic timekeeping system, ensuring efficient processing.

We are seeking individuals with a strong background in mentoring, coaching, or teaching youth, along with polished customer service and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct orientation sessions for youth participants, ensuring they are prepared for the program.
  • Maintain accurate orientation files for each participant, ensuring all information is complete and accurate.
  • Build and maintain relationships with participants, their families, and worksite supervisors.
  • Regularly visit work sites (2-3 times a week) to monitor participant progress, ensure compliance with labor laws, and maintain program quality.
  • Provide ongoing mentorship and support, utilizing Y.O.U.'s career readiness curriculum throughout the program.
  • Review timesheets each week for accuracy and completeness, promptly resolving any discrepancies.
  • Serve as the primary contact for participants and their families regarding program details, work experience, and payroll.
  • Document participant progress and enter case notes as directed by program staff.
  • Regularly update worksite contact information as needed.
  • Assist with participant enrollment, including completing necessary paperwork, work permit processes, health exams, and employment forms.
  • Address any issues at worksites, ensuring both the participant and supervisor feel supported.
  • Attend staff/team meetings as scheduled and participate in program discussions.
  • Submit evaluations, participant surveys, and other required reports in a timely manner.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Details:

  • This position runs from May to August.
  • Compensation is $19 per hour.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Education, Social Work, or a related field is preferred.
  • High School Diploma is required.

Experience and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a leadership, mentoring, or coaching role with youth or adults.
  • Strong customer service experience and data entry skills.
  • Proficiency with databases, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including at-risk youth and adults.
  • Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Reliable transportation to and from offices, partner organizations, and community locations.
