A Brief Overview

As a Seasonal Customer Service Specialist, you will provide an exceptional customer experience through expertise, accountability, and responsiveness. You will deliver professional and quality service to both internal and external customers by utilizing strong communication skills and effective telephone techniques. Your role will also include using cutting-edge technology to perform vehicle glass repairs and recalibrations.

What You'll Do:
  • Welcome customers in the shop and quickly resolve any concerns, often providing creative solutions.
  • Manage incoming calls, emails, and faxes related to service issues, pricing, warranties, dispatch, repairs, cash transactions, and reschedules/cancellations.
  • Ensure efficient operations by confirming work order information, verifying insurance, and gathering any additional parts or information.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as processing buyouts, invoices, work orders, and managing credit memos.
  • Assist with orders from the contact center and manage dealer part orders and special accounts.
  • Learn to repair vehicle glass through classroom instruction and hands-on training alongside experienced technicians.
  • Repair chips, cracks, and other auto glass issues.
  • Utilize our Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology to manage work orders and customer communications.
  • Promote and sell Safelite promotional items to customers.
  • Clean customer vehicles during waiting times and perform housekeeping tasks in the shop.
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems, troubleshooting and diagnosing issues as needed.
  • Safely operate customer vehicles and use company-issued tools and chemicals.
  • Follow store opening and closing procedures.
  • Complete other assigned duties as required and comply with company policies.

Education Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license required.
  • Completion of Safelite SafeTech certification required.
Experience Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience in telephone operations or business administration required.
  • Ability to deliver world-class customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs, assist in lifting heavier items.
  • Comfortable working in tight spaces and performing physical tasks.
  • Skilled in using various hand and power tools safely.
  • Able to operate a motor vehicle in compliance with all laws.
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to outstanding customer service.
  • Ability to work with chemicals safely.
  • Availability to work flexible hours based on customer needs.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and interpreting technical directions in English.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to maintain a professional appearance, adhering to uniform and PPE standards.
  • Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining stable performance.
