Overview of the Role
As a Customer Service Specialist, you will create a seamless experience for our customers by demonstrating expertise, ownership, accountability, and responsiveness. You will deliver professional and high-quality service to both internal and external customers using strong communication skills and effective telephone techniques. You will also utilize advanced technology to perform vehicle glass repairs and recalibrations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome customers in the shop and swiftly resolve their concerns, often using creative solutions.
  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and faxes related to service issues, pricing, and appointment changes.
  • Ensure smooth operations by verifying and completing work order information, including insurance and parts management.
  • Efficiently manage administrative tasks like invoices and credit processes.
  • Review and manage orders from the contact center, including dealer parts orders.
  • Receive training to repair vehicle glass through hands-on experience and classroom instruction.
  • Perform repairs on chips, cracks, and other auto glass issues.
  • Utilize Safelite's Mobile Resource Management technology to manage work orders and customer documentation.
  • Clean customer vehicles while repairs are underway and maintain cleanliness within the shop.
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems and conduct diagnostic tests.
  • Safely operate customer vehicles and use company tools and chemicals throughout the day.
  • Follow store opening and closing procedures.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned and adhere to company policies and standards.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Valid state driver's license and any required licenses to operate a company vehicle.
  • Completion of on-the-job training and Safelite SafeTech certification.
Experience Needed
  • 1-3 years of experience in telephone operations or business administration required.
  • A knack for delivering excellent customer service in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
Skills and Abilities
  • Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs and assisting with lifting heavier items.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and perform physical tasks.
  • Proficient in using various hand and power tools safely.
  • Knowledge of safe motor vehicle operation as per laws.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and a commitment to exceptional customer service.
  • Willingness to work with chemicals and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Flexibility to work scheduled shifts and adjust start/end times as needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret English and technical instructions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Professional appearance, adhering to uniform and PPE policies.
  • Ability to maintain performance under pressure and deadlines.
