Position Summary The Steamboat Grand Team invites applications for an Assistant Manager for our banquets team. We are looking for detail-oriented individuals who are ready to step into management. Help us execute numerous exciting events this summer at the Steamboat Grand.
Key Responsibilities - Act independently, ensuring all event aspects are addressed meticulously
- Deliver exceptional service to guests and staff, adhering to Resort Etiquette Guidelines
- Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) with the Banquet Manager to ensure readiness
- Coordinate daily operations of banquet functions, consulting with catering and F&B management
- Supervise operations including table setup, service station stocking, and customer service
- Monitor food quality and service standards
- Collaborate with catering, sales, and F&B personnel to plan and evaluate services
- Track guest counts for meetings and reconcile billing
- Enforce alcohol policies and oversee shift meetings
- Attend meetings and assist with staff scheduling and training
- Develop and implement standards and procedures for banquet staff
- Serve as a liaison with guests for event planning
- Uphold compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications We are looking for candidates with the following:
- Two years of relevant experience or education
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Prior management experience in a similar setting is beneficial
- Strong problem-solving abilities and positive relationship-building skills
- Familiarity with RTP, UKG, Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Basic administrative skills in food service operations
- Must meet driving standards and hold a valid driver's license
Compensation The pay ranges from $18.00 to $19.00 per hour, plus gratuities.
Physical Requirements - Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Working Conditions Employees may work indoors and outdoors with exposure to varying weather conditions. The noise level in the workplace is typically moderate.
