Remote Contract Opportunity

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Scrum Master position. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity based in Buffalo, NY. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Provide servant-leadership and mentorship to multiple cross-functional agile teams using Scrum, Kanban, and Extreme Programming (XP) frameworks.
  • Utilize a broad knowledge base of agile practices including user stories, retrospectives, story mapping, Acceptance Test-Driven Development (ATDD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), continuous integration, pairing, information radiators, etc., to help create high performing teams.
  • Encourage a continuous improvement culture through transparency, collaboration, and retrospectives.
  • Facilitate team-level agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Help teams visualize and radiate workflow information to maintain transparency with stakeholders.
  • Address blocking issues beyond team authority to maintain focus on goals.
  • Collaborate with other Agile Leaders to optimize Agile practices across the organization.
  • Mentor less experienced Scrum Masters and foster agile best practices.
  • Promote learning opportunities such as communities of practice, conferences, and training events.
  • Understand and adhere to company risk and regulatory standards, identifying issues for escalation.
  • Maintain internal controls to mitigate risk.
What You'll Need to Have:
  • Experience using Agile in a business environment.
  • Advanced skills in Jira and Target Process.
  • Advanced skills in reporting and capacity planning.
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years experience as a member of an Agile team, including a minimum of 2 years as a Scrum Master; or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 8 years higher education and/or work experience with similar Agile experience.
  • Prior experience fostering team self-organization and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Lean principles and practices.
  • Experience developing/managing digital capabilities.
  • Understanding of Design Thinking principles.
  • Prior experience leading through influence.

Pay Range: $48-$63/hr +
