Scrum Master Advisor - Utilization Management (UM)

Location: Atlanta, GA; Jacksonville, FL (preferred). Alternate locations may be considered. This position will work in a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.

The Scrum Master Advisor is responsible for the administrative, coaching and leadership roles that make Scrum development/delivery possible. You will be applying your project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project deliverables, processes, and systems specific to interoperability EMR vendor integrations and health systems (providers).

How You Will Make an Impact:
  • Works with business partners to identify and implement multiple complex technical systems and/or products of varying sizes.
  • Manages large systems and/or products.
  • Acts as a buffer between the team and process overhead, so each team member can focus on timely delivery.
  • Shields the team from interruptions and removes obstacles that may impact the delivery of the product.
  • Facilitates internal and external communications (e.g. task coordination, progress tracking/reporting, dependency management).
  • Ensure the team is well-informed on internal and external initiatives and activities.
  • Collaborates with external stakeholders and other interested parties, ensuring that they are well-informed on team progress and activities.
  • Performs analysis on current capabilities versus desired capabilities.
  • Creates strategy at enterprise lead level to identify best known method processes and integration capabilities.
  • Develops training plans; develops requirements documents; develops approval matrix.
  • Defines, recommends and secures contractual agreements for technical services and products.
  • Coordinates requirements, schedules implementation and post-implement actives, and develops service-level agreements for vendor partners and global resources firms.
  • Defines quality gates for each sprint; defines critical success factors.
  • Defines process design, mapping and quality assurance tools to define processes.
  • Ensures testing is complete leveraging standard processes, policies, guidelines and templates; Interprets results of testing and reviews continuous improvement plan with senior management.
  • Subject matter expert for product and program management related tools and processes.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Requires BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field of study with IT focus degree and a minimum of 7 years experience implementing Agile methodologies; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:
  • Experience with CSM, CSPO and large sized Agile implementations (e.g. 7 or more teams) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with EMR systems and platforms (e.g. Epic, Oracle/Cerner, Athena, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Healthcare Clearinghouses (e.g. Availity, Change, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with health plan operations (e.g. UM, CM, Claims, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Ability to 'hit the ground' running with minimal coaching strongly preferred.
  • Strongly prefer project management certification.
  • Strong preference to having experience in creating an effective team environment, building strong relationships, negotiation, solving problems and issues, resolving conflicts, managing resources in a matrix environment and communicating effectively at all levels of an organization
  • Strong preference to having experience working with project management tools, documentation tools, and reporting tools required
  • Experience working with portfolio management applications and Rational tools strongly preferred.
