Role Overview:

As a Senior Scrum Master for our client, you will be a team leader and coach, responsible for facilitating Agile processes and guiding teams through the Scrum framework. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, to drive product delivery. Additionally, you will mentor junior Scrum Masters, advocate for Agile best practices, and foster an environment of collaboration and self-organization within your teams. Your role will have a direct impact on the successful delivery of projects and the continued evolution of Agile practices at Nike.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate Scrum Events: Lead and facilitate essential Scrum events such as sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
  • Coaching & Mentorship: Mentor both team members and junior Scrum Masters, fostering self-organization, continuous improvement, and adoption of Agile practices.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and address inefficiencies within the Scrum process, advocating for changes that improve team performance and delivery.
  • Impediment Removal: Proactively identify and remove obstacles that hinder team progress, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between Scrum teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment, transparency, and effective communication.
  • Tracking & Reporting: Track and report on key team metrics and sprint progress to ensure accountability, visibility, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Agile Advocacy: Champion Agile practices across the organization, leading teams in their adoption and influencing organizational change towards a high-performing Agile culture.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure the successful development and delivery of products.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging teams to reflect on their practices and identify areas for optimization.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Deep Scrum Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Scrum framework, its events, artifacts, and roles, as well as familiarity with other Agile frameworks and methodologies (e.g., Kanban, Lean).
  • Coaching & Mentorship: Proven experience coaching and mentoring teams, helping them adopt and evolve Agile practices.
  • Facilitation Expertise: Excellent facilitation skills to lead productive Scrum meetings and discussions that drive team performance.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders, build consensus, and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively while managing multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
  • Conflict Resolution: Skilled in identifying and resolving conflicts constructively to maintain a positive team dynamic.
  • Proactive Problem Solver: Able to identify and resolve issues before they become roadblocks, ensuring continuous improvement in team performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or other relevant Scrum certifications.
  • Experience working in a scaled Agile environment (e.g., SAFe, LeSS).
  • Familiarity with Agile project management tools like JIRA, Confluence, etc.
  • Previous experience working with cross-functional teams in complex product development.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $62.39 to $69.33 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
