School Secretary 12-Month (Secretary 12) located at Torrington Middle School
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the School Principal, the School Secretary contributes to the efficient operation of the office through secretarial support. No supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Uses office equipment including but not limited to copier, facsimile, computer, postage meter, phone and intercom.
- Uses computer to produce spreadsheets, word processed correspondence, create/maintain databases, presentations, etc.
- Uses and maintains an on-line student database for attendance and enrollment tracking.
- Creates, enters and manipulates data in an electronic database or spreadsheet.
- Answers telephone, maintains voicemail messages, forwards information to the appropriate party.
- Manages information (e.g. registration, materials, student records, report cards, flier, handbooks, bus information).
- Manages calendar (meetings, building events, activities).
- Manages purchase orders, monitors budget.
- Manages student activity accounts if assigned by supervisor.
- Performs other duties as appropriate and required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Good communication skills
Terms of Employment: 12-month work year, 40 hours per week
