Supervised by and/or Reports to: Building Administrator
General Responsibilities: Ensure the smooth operation of the assigned grade level office by assisting staff, students, and parents as needed.

- Maintains the general function of the grade 5 or grade 6 office.
- Assigns and labels faculty mailboxes.
- Manages student attendance logs, tracking, communication and reporting.
- Assists grade level assistant principal by scheduling and maintaining his/her calendar.
- Submits transportation change forms when there are temporary or permanent changes to a student's situation; verifies bus notes; coordinates activity buses.
- Acts as main point of contact for assigned grade level related issues.
- Updates and tracks ESOL students' 11 semesters in PowerSchool.
- Prepares suspension letters.
- Creates and maintains a list of students in ISD, ASD, and lunch detention; communicates list to teachers, guidance counselors and the supervisors of ISD, ASD, and lunch detention.
- Handles the enrollment and withdrawal of students, including but not limited to: computerized information, scanned forms, monthly reports, student data, and class listings and numbers.
- Maintains student records.
- Types, maintains, and distributes correspondence.
- Researches and types monthly newsletter.
- Compiles, types, and sends notifications to parents as needed.
- Composes documents for principal and assistant principal(s).
- Obtains all teaching and assistant substitutes as necessary.
- Maintains student discipline files; runs monthly and yearly discipline reports by grade level.
- Maintains files on teacher licensure, staff promotion and staff retention.
- Assists in fire drills.
- Manages Tdap immunization information and status for incoming grade 6 students.
- Maintains office and student logs.
- Distributes FLE Opt Out forms to appropriate teachers.
- Maintains teacher groups and calendars with meetings and holidays in Groupwise.
- Compiles and maintains various school, city, and state reports on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis.
- Serves as a liaison between community and school.
- Serves as a resource for administration and faculty regarding student and parent information.
- Maintains an up-to-date emergency card file; provide address updates to the main school office.

Requisite Education and Experience: - Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Prior clerical or administrative assistant experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to: a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, or repetitive motions required.
