SCF - Emergency Medicine (Education, Finance & Creative Writing) Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

The Emergency Department at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital is an exciting and expanding department in one of the busiest and highest-performing non-elective trusts in the country. We are looking for enthusiastic, forward-thinking team players to help build on the current excellent reputation and trust ethos.

We have several posts for experienced Emergency Medicine doctors (ST4+ equivalent) who wish to pursue a fellowship in an area of their choosing. Fellowship postholders are awarded up to 20% of non-clinical fellowship time, with the remaining time spent providing Emergency Medicine care on the full rota (self-rostered) alongside higher trainees and other senior clinical fellows.

Please specify in your application which fellowship post interests you. Standalone SCF ED posts without a fellowship option are also available.

Main duties of the job

Senior Clinical Fellows will, under supervision, supervise FY2s and perform clinical duties alongside middle-grade doctors. The department has introduced new working patterns, including roles such as 'lead middle grade', 'resus lead', and 'rapid assessment team'. The middle grade will also run the daily review clinic. The department values teaching and postgraduate training, providing opportunities for professional development. Certificates in ATLS and ALS are expected or to be obtained during the appointment. Previous postholders have had a job split of up to 70:30 between Emergency Medicine and Healthcare Management, tailored to projects or courses and reviewed regularly.

These positions are based at Chelsea and Westminster Emergency Department, providing clinical cover that can be self-rostered or rota-based.
