Description

The Scanning & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date pricing, product information, and inventory levels through the scanning system. This role ensures the timely and accurate receipt of goods, verifies deliveries, and communicates with vendors as necessary. The position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and an understanding of retail operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Receiving
  • Oversee the receipt of products, ensuring all items are correctly accounted for.
  • Verify the accuracy of shipments, inspecting goods for damage, and checking quantity and quality against purchase orders.
  • Process and document incoming shipments, updating the inventory system with relevant data.
  • Communicate with vendors about any discrepancies or issues with orders.
  • Ensure all merchandise is properly labeled and stored in appropriate areas of the store or backroom.
Scanning & Pricing
  • Manage and update product pricing in the store's scanning and inventory system.
  • Ensure all items in the store are correctly priced and labeled according to company policies.
  • Conduct regular price checks and audits to ensure consistency and accuracy of product information.
  • Coordinate price changes, promotions, and sales updates, ensuring proper signage and system updates are made.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address pricing or scanning issues.
Inventory Control
  • Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy, conducting regular counts and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Work with department managers to ensure stock levels are appropriate based on sales and inventory trends.
  • Generate and analyze inventory reports to assist in decision-making and stock management.
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal regulations regarding product pricing and receiving.
  • Adhere to safety standards during receiving processes, such as proper lifting techniques and equipment use.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and safe receiving areas.
Customer Service
  • Assist customers and team members with price-related inquiries and discrepancies.
  • Work with the front-end team to resolve any scanning issues that occur during checkout.
Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in retail management or logistics is a plus.
  • Previous experience in retail, grocery, or a related field.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with inventory management systems.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in pricing and inventory management.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Performing repetitive tasks and manual labor as necessary.
