Our Utilities industry client is actively seeking a SCADA Engineer with specialized expertise in PowerOn Reliance and C programming. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining advanced SCADA systems to support our utility operations.
Job Details:
Contract Duration: Multi - year contract
Location: Santa Ana/Orange County CA area
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm PST
(Potentially open for relocation)
Responsibilities:
- Develop and configure SCADA systems using PowerOn Reliance. Customize logic and user interfaces to meet operational requirements.
- Develop custom modules, system extensions, and control logic in C to enhance SCADA capabilities and integrate with external systems.
- Integrate SCADA platforms with field devices such as PLCs, RTUs, and IEDs using protocols like DNP3, Modbus, and IEC 61850.
- Apply secure coding practices and implement cybersecurity standards to protect SCADA systems from external and internal threats.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a SCADA Engineer, with proven expertise in PowerOn Reliance.
- Proficient in C programming, with ability to develop and debug complex system logic.
- Strong understanding of SCADA protocols (DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850) and field device integration.
- Experience working with PLCs, RTUs, and IEDs in utility or industrial automation settings.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity standards for operational technology (NIST, NERC CIP, etc.) and secure coding practices.
