The IT SAP Functional Lead is the point of contact for the relevant business unit for all activities related to the SAP system. This person will work with their respective business lead to resolve application issues, identify areas for improvement in the system and for assisting in process improvements related to the operations of the SAP solution. The SAP Finance Lead will be responsible for leading the implementation, configuration, and ongoing support of SAP Finance (FI/CO) solutions, with a strong focus on S/4HANA. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that SAP systems align with the financial reporting and accounting needs of the business. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with SAP FICO (Finance and Controlling) modules, deep knowledge of financial processes, and the ability to manage and deliver complex SAP projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP Finance (FI/CO) solutions, including S/4HANA, to meet the needs of the business, with a particular focus on retail and dining operations.
- Act as the subject matter expert for SAP Finance modules (FI/CO), providing guidance and support to business users in retail and dining operations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in retail and dining to understand business requirements and translate them into technical SAP solutions that improve financial operations and reporting.
- Work with the business to resolve issues related to the SAP system or processes
- Work with the business to identify opportunities to improve the system and associated processes
- Act as point of contact with the internal SAP team and AMS for break/fix or enhancements to the SAP system
- Manage SAP Finance integration with other modules (e.g., MM, SD, and PP) to ensure seamless end-to-end processes that support retail and dining operations.
- Provide training and user support for SAP Finance processes and tools, particularly with SAP S/4HANA, tailored to retail and dining business needs.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards across retail and dining operations.
- Lead the maintenance and continuous improvement of SAP Finance processes, identifying opportunities for optimization and automation, especially in retail and dining contexts.
- Manage SAP project timelines, resources, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives for retail and dining operations.
- Manage all configurations required to support ongoing business functions
- Ensures functional correctness and test the integration of the solution with other applications
- Provides for the centralized documentation and Configuration Management of SAP solutions adhering to SAP Standards for Solution Documentation
- Supports processes associated with SAP. This includes update of IT Operations procedural documentation and Operations Handbooks for monitoring, managing data consistency, managing jobs, and managing data growth.
- Provides input for the setup and creation of the individual transports
- Analyzes reported problems and recommendations for corrective action
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate) is a plus.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in SAP Finance (FI/CO) implementation, configuration, and support.
- Extensive experience with SAP S/4HANA, particularly in the Finance (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting and controlling processes, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, and Profitability Analysis.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC 6.0 is required, with a preference for S/4HANA experience.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end integration of SAP Finance with other modules (e.g., MM, SD, PP) and their impact on financial reporting in retail and dining operations.
- Experience in supporting retail and dining operations or similar industries, with a deep understanding of their financial needs and processes.
- Strong project management skills with experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing project timelines.
- Functional and technical understanding of implemented business process(es)
- Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adjust priorities in rapidly changing environments, work well under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to present complex ideas and designs to a variety of technical or non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, multi-tasking and prioritization skills are required
- Work and collaborate with other technology groups to support the SAP landscape
- Exemplary troubleshooting and ability to drive root cause analysis on incidents and problems
