About the Role:
ArvatoConnect are looking for an experienced SAP Basis Lead to take charge of our SAP estate and keep it running like clockwork. You'll take the lead on everything from upgrades and patches to performance tuning and system support, making sure everything works just as it should. It's a hands-on role where your expertise will help prevent issues before they happen and ensuring seamless delivery of services across the business. What you'll do:
- Take ownership of our SAP landscape, ensuring systems like ERP, BW, CRM, SRM, Fiori, and Portal are stable, secure, and high-performing.
- Manage system upgrades, patches, installations, and technical configurations across a NetWeaver 7.5 environment.
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot performance issues, and fine-tune databases and infrastructure.
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and high availability planning.
- Handle daily system checks, incident resolution, and proactive issue prevention.
- Support transport management and ensure safe implementation of support packages and patches.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver SAP solutions that align with business goals.
- Support audit compliance, technical documentation, and security best practices.
- Play a key role in new rollouts and large-scale SAP initiatives.
What you'll bring to the table:
- Solid hands-on experience with SAP products on ECC 6.0 and NetWeaver 7.5.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (SUSE Linux 15+), Sybase ASE, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Experience supporting SAP CRM 7.0, SRM 7.0, EP 7.5, BI 7.5, PO 7.5, and Fiori applications.
- Confident in database monitoring, parameter tuning, system backups, and performance optimisation.
- Exposure to scripting (Python, Shell), SQL, and administering 3-tier application environments.
- Comfortable providing 1st and 2nd line SAP support and working with business-critical systems.
- A proactive problem-solver with strong customer focus and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Experience in configuration and release management, with an eye for continuous improvement.
- Proven experience in a technical SAP Basis role, ideally as a lead or senior specialist.
- Deep understanding of SAP system administration, including upgrades and support pack application.
- Familiarity with Linux-based environments and Sybase database administration.
- Able to support high availability environments and handle out-of-hours support when needed.
- Strong communication skills and experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
