Position: Food Runner (Seasonal)

Reports to: Director of Food and Beverage

Job Summary: The Food Runner organizes the Expo Line and communicates with both the FOH and BOH to expedite dishes from the kitchen to guests' tables. They are knowledgeable and proficient in the menu and are able to present all items clearly and professionally. This position requires speed, excellent organization and good communication skills.

Essential Functions:
  • Setting, organizing, maintaining, and cleaning the expo line and adjacent areas.
  • Follow Rose Tavern's ticketing system to ensure orders are delivered accurately.
  • Have a proficient understanding of the restaurant layout, including table numbers and seat positions.
  • Ensure plates are served and presented in the exact manner they are intended to be. Consistency is key.
  • Ensuring proper communication between Servers and Chefs around any special orders, allergies, or dietary restrictions.
  • Interacting with guests when delivering food in a positive and knowledgeable way.
  • Maintaining the Expo Line with clean china, and silverware at all times.
  • Communicating with both FOH and BOH in a clear, professional and concise way at all times.
  • Manage all waste in an environmentally responsible way and in line with policies set in place by the Restaurant.
  • Perform any other duties necessary for guest service standards.
  • Communicate efficiently and respectfully with support staff and management.
  • Help other team members in their duties when time allows.
  • Organize and execute all IRD deliveries using proper IRD steps of service.
  • Adhere to all levels of Health Code and Sanitation.
  • Polishing glassware and silverware at appropriate times.
Job Requirements:
  • Excellent communication skills (verbally interacts with management, servers, team members and guests).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Frequently required to walk; sit; stoop; bend; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
