Working under general supervision of the Sr Dir Process Optimization and Transformation, relying on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals, the Salesforce Practice Lead for IT plays a key role in developing and executing our strategy to establish and expand our Salesforce practice. The responsibilities include strategy development, stakeholder engagement, solution delivery, team management, and platform evangelism to ensure successful implementation and adoption of Salesforce across the enterprise. The Practice Lead provides guidance in developing and implementing functional requirements for Salesforce applications and integration to core Connection enterprise systems. Advocates for improvements in processes in support of the Sales and Sales support teams. Contributes to IT and customer focused improvements in the Salesforce platform and relevant Connection business systems. With support from Salesforce administrators and developers, the Practice Lead is responsible for the design and build of Salesforce applications and integration to other applications and platforms including architecture, languages, best practices and methodologies. The Lead works with other IT Applications Development teams, PMO, and Client Services teams in fulfilling requirements for Salesforce, as it relates to other Connection enterprise business systems and platforms. Works closely with Salesforce administrators and developers as well as with other departments at Connection such as Sales, Sales Support, Operations, Finance, and Marketing. The Lead may also work with external consulting resources based on project scope and priorities set by the business and IT. The Salesforce Practice Lead supports other team members by ensuring continued understanding of Salesforce technologies, platforms and integrations using best practice methods and tools.

Responsibilities:
  • Defines and executes the vision for our internal IT Salesforce practice while driving utilization and best practices across various Sales segments.
  • Builds strong relationships with key stakeholders, understanding their business needs and identifying potential Salesforce capabilities to address them.
  • Oversees the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of our Salesforce platform ensuring alignment with best practices and enterprise architecture strategy.
  • Mentors a high-performing team of Salesforce developers and administrators, fostering their technical skills and supporting their professional growth.
  • Understands the needs of the business and advises on the most effective strategy regarding Salesforce applications development and integration. Recommends Salesforce process changes that support the future direction of the business, allowing for seamless integration to other applications and platforms that improve efficiencies of the various departments that leverage the use of Salesforce.
  • Maintains development plans, project scope on-time delivery, and completion within budget.
  • Controls and monitors project progress, costs, risks, remediation, and change management processes.
  • Organizes workload and ensures appropriate resource planning.
  • Communicates status to appropriate stakeholders and closes out projects.
  • Interacts heavily with Salesforce Administrator, Applications Development, PMO, QA, Sales and Sales support teams, as well as establishes and maintains external customers.
  • Reviews technical literature. Attends meetings and training opportunities to keep up to date on emerging technologies related to information systems and their proper use.
  • Performs all other duties or special projects as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in Salesforce implementation and management including Salesforce Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Platform and App Cloud, Security Model, Einstein Bots, Agentforce, etc.
  • Proven experience in building and scaling Salesforce practices or teams including leading project execution, team members and vendor management.
  • Understanding of system architecture, integrations, and development methodologies within the Salesforce platform.
  • Strong communications skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across teams and stakeholders in a large enterprise.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex business requirements.
