HVAC Sales Professional

Compensation: 100% commission-based ($100,000-$200,000/year potential)
About the Role
Ideal Services, a NearU Company, is seeking a high-performing HVAC Sales Professional to join our growing team in Denver, NC (Comfort Advisor). This individual will play a vital role in our in-home sales operations-meeting with residential customers, conducting job scopes, preparing custom HVAC sales proposals, and closing sales.
You will be provided warm leads daily (2-5 per day depending on seasonality), allowing you to focus on what you do best-building relationships, identifying solutions, and closing deals. This role is ideal for a results-driven, customer-focused professional with a passion for the home services industry and a knack for overcoming objections, upselling value, and educating homeowners.
Responsibilities:
Sales & Customer Engagement
- Sales Leadership: Lead the sales process from start to finish, ensuring customer satisfaction every step of the way.
- Conduct in-home consultations with residential customers to scope projects, assess HVAC needs, and explain system benefits.
- Close sales through professional presentations, relationship building, and confident proposal delivery.
- Prepare and present accurate sales proposals, outlining multiple system options and tailored recommendations.
- Follow-up on post-sales and facilitate smooth transitions with installation managers and installers after the sale.
- Maintain communication with customers throughout the sales cycle and installation phases. Establish strong rapport with customers by demonstrating the value of our products and services.
Lead Management & Prospecting
- Respond promptly to new/warm leads and follow up with existing ones; manage pipeline through our CRM.
- Ask qualifying questions to understand customer needs, budgets, and eligibility for financing, tax credits, and utility rebates.
- Maintain up-to-date records of customer interactions, notes, and documentation in the CRM system.
Scoping & Job Analysis
- Conduct detailed job scopes including evaluating existing HVAC systems, ductwork, electrical/gas setups, and site-specific conditions.
- Perform load calculations and window measurements to ensure appropriately sized system recommendations.
- Identify opportunities for system enhancements, upgrades, and efficiency improvements.
- Document scope sheets thoroughly, including homeowner concerns (e.g., allergies, energy costs).
Team Collaboration & Customer Experience
- Collaborate with installation managers to ensure seamless handoff from sale to install.
- Attend weekly sales meetings, product training, and company events to stay updated on best practices.
- Provide post-installation follow-ups to ensure high customer satisfaction and address any remaining concerns.
What You Bring
Required Experience & Skills
- High school or GED required, bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2+ years of in-home sales experience (HVAC, windows, roofing, siding, solar, or similar home services).
- Proven ability to meet and exceed $2-3M+ in annual sales volume.
- Excellent interpersonal and consultative sales skills with a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to handle objections, negotiate value, and build lasting customer trust.
- Comfortable using CRM systems and digital proposal tools.
- Exceptional time management and self-motivation in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, and load calculations preferred.
- Working knowledge of HVAC permitting, rebate programs, and energy efficiency upgrades.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
