BASIC JOB FUNCTION (Primary Purpose):
Become proficient in inside sales management while developing skills to becoming a Sales Representative. The successful candidate will develop their skills as a Steel Mill commercial teammate and gain knowledge on processes, the marketplace and how to manage and grow a territory on Wire Rod and/or Rebar. Ultimately the Sales Representative is responsible to provide effective customer service to customers by utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and services, while driving sustainable and profitable tons onto the mill.
This position will make train throughout the sales process, learning each scope of the Steel business. Ultimately, becoming a successful Sales Representative, making office or job site calls in person on assigned accounts. Building relationships and driving sustainable and profitable tons to the company.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within an assigned territory.
- Conduct face-to-face meetings with prospective and existing clients to understand their needs and present tailored solutions
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads through cold calling, networking, and referrals
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop territory strategies and meet sales targets
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure client satisfaction. Work with mill and team to resolve quality issues,
- Learn and understand the principles of steel making and the commercial steel market
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs
Qualifications for this position includes 2 or 4-year degree and 3-5 years of customer service and/or sales experience with MS Office suite and basic computer skills, required experience previously with customer service, tele sales, and data entry.
