The Opportunity:
We are supporting a global leader in scientific services and solutions in the hiring of a Sales Representative to support its portfolio of analytical instrumentation. With a strong history of innovation and partnership across the life sciences, food, environmental, and applied markets, the company offers a comprehensive range of technologies including atomic spectroscopy, molecular spectroscopy, chromatography, and materials characterization systems, along with consumables and reagents.
Role Purpose:
The Sales Specialist will be responsible for promoting a portfolio of analytical solutions across Inorganic, Chromatography, and Material Characterization product lines. This role involves presenting the company's capabilities to the market, acting as a key interface with customers, and representing the full range of products and services within an assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive Revenue Growth:
- Execute a strategic sales plan aligned with broader regional and corporate objectives. This includes managing existing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, supporting trade show participation, and improving market share and profitability by leveraging available resources.
Business Development & Territory Strategy:
- Maintain an effective approach to time and territory management. Present technical and commercial solutions to customers, identify emerging needs, and promote relevant support services. Accurately track customer interactions and pipeline activity using CRM tools, maintain sales forecasts, and contribute to improved forecast accuracy and revenue performance.
Solution-Based Selling:
- Build strong relationships with customers and collaborate with industry partners to develop tailored solutions. Apply technical knowledge of the product lines and market dynamics to consultatively guide purchasing decisions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work in close alignment with regional sales teams, service personnel, product managers, and business unit stakeholders to ensure a unified customer experience. Support and participate in customer-focused events and promotional activities throughout the year.
Qualifications - Required:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field
- Minimum 3 years of direct sales experience in analytical instrumentation, or relevant laboratory experience with similar technologies
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50%, including overnight travel as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of laboratory operations, cost drivers, and competitive market factors
- Experience using or selling laboratory software and scientific instrumentation
- Background in Inorganic, Chromatography, or Materials Characterization techniques is highly desirable
