Summary of Responsibilities:

The Sales Manager is responsible for all aspects of managing and motivating the Business Development Team which consists of the Sales, Marketing, Client Service and R&D departments. The Sales Manager is responsible for retaining and growing existing business, while pursuing additional profitable growth opportunities nationwide. The performance of the Sales Manager will be measured by the level of achievement of these assigned goals.

Successful candidate must be able to work effectively as a team player, possess effective communication and organization skills, interact proactively with cross-functional teams, and provide strong technical support. This position requires a solution driven approach that challenge the day-to-day obstacles.

Essential Functions:

1. Develop, review and report on the business development division's strategy and results including revenue budget forecast, client mix, pipeline management and product development

2. Monitor and drive revenue growth

3. Meet and exceed individual and business sales targets

4. Implementing short- and long-term business plan and actions

5. Identifies, qualifies and closes new opportunities

6. Responsible for positioning, presenting, collaborating a strategy with the customer. This includes category growth, understanding customers store operations and opportunities.

7. Assist R&D & Commercialization on innovation as well as recipe development based on customer strategy

8. Maintaining and expanding customer relationships, ensuring customer loyalty through excellent customer service

9. Develop strong relationships with a solution driven approach to create "win win" opportunities. Obtain and maintain an extensive level of market and expert knowledge

10. Manage the activities and performance of the sales team members, the client service department and the R&D team.

11. Retain and profitably grow volume in units and dollars, as well as profitability through proactive management of accounts

12. Serve as the primary liaison with other team leads both internally and inter-divisionally to establish smooth working relationships, communication channels and business development implementation strategies

13. Compose internal/external collateral and presentations to further develop business opportunities and enhance organization's profile in the marketplace

14. Continually evaluate current product mix for viability, efficiency of production and profitability


Requirements:


• Strong planning and organizational skills


• Excellent communication skills-written, verbal, and interpersonal


• At least 3 years of experience in Project Management or Customer Management role.


• Passionate about food


• Must have a "can-do" solution-based attitude to work in a hectic environment that is evolving and growing.


• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; able to learn new programs.


• System expertise to understand and develop pricing models and the ability to analyze profitability across product sets.


• Experience in Packaging, Fresh-Cut, Deli products and MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) is a plus.


• Bachelor's degree in food science, Biological Sciences, Industrial Engineering or Business Administration is a plus.

• 5-8 years' experience in direct client sales or business development


• Previous sales management in the food industry experience highly desirable


Travel and or Driving Requirement: Travel will be driven by business need
