About Innerscene

Innerscene ( ) engineers Virtual Sun and Circadian Sky -a family of virtual skylights that use multi layer optics and hundreds of tunable white LEDs to create the illusion of an infinitely distant sun and sky. Both products deliver UV free, circadian tuned daylight to windowless spaces. Virtual Sun is our recessed flagship luminaire for new construction, while Circadian Sky is a slim retrofit panel that drops into standard ceiling grids. Our largest markets are health care facilities and luxury residences , but we also elevate corporate campuses, wellness centers, and select hospitality venues. We're a venture backed, small trans Atlantic team of optical scientists, engineers, and design savvy sales pros, with operations in both the United States and the United Kingdom , and our headquarters in Sonoma, California.

The Opportunity

Because we're small, you'll wear many hats . Half of your week you'll act as a Sales Engineer-partnering with architects, lighting designers, and end users to specify Innerscene luminaires. The other half you'll interface with Innerscene sales, engineering, and marketing to dive into order preparation, freight logistics (working alongside our dedicated Logistics Coordinator), and light warehouse ops, tradeshow prep, communicating customer requirements, and ensuring every project ships on time, configured and defect free.

What You'll Do
  • Provide inside sales support for our RSMs: answer technical product questions, quotes, track sample and literature requests, follow up on outstanding proposals, and keep opportunity data pristine in the CRM.
  • Configure orders before they leaves the warehouse-upgrade firmware, set delivery time zone, latitude/longitude, wireless zones, and lighting schedules-then program and commission Casambi as needed; train installers and facilities staff, complete punch lists, and file close out documents.
  • Translate POs into pick/pack lists, stage orders, and run quality checks before shipment alongside our Logistics Coordinator.
  • Co design and build Innerscene's trade show booths (LEDucation, LightFair) and demo environments; manage on site setup/tear down.
  • Serve as co driver and technical host for our annual Innerscene Road Show trailer-power, rigging, and demos
  • Capture voice of customer feedback and relay it to Engineering and Product for roadmap decisions.
What You'll Bring
  • 3-7 years' experience in architectural or commercial lighting sales engineering, covering both pre sales design assist and post sales commissioning.
  • In depth familiarity with commercial lighting control ecosystems: Lutron, Crestron, Paradigm/Mosaic, DALI 2, Casambi BLE mesh , and DMX networks.
  • Exposure to freight logistics, warehouse staging, or order fulfillment for hardware or lighting equipment.
  • Degree or hands on background in mechanical, electrical, or computer engineering is a strong plus.
  • Comfort using modern AI productivity tools (e.g., ChatGPT , Claude ) to prepare materials, FAQs, research unique customer needs, or automate routine tasks.
  • Proven skill in trade show booth design, on site setup/tear down, and mobile demo presentations .
  • Proficiency with photometric and BIM tools ( AGi32, Revit, Dialux ) and confidence reading construction documents.
  • Excellent presentation and customer service skills; you translate deep tech into clear value stories for designers, contractors, and owners.
  • Willingness to travel nationally (up to 20 % ) for client visits, LEDucation , and road show stops.
  • Awareness of the commercial lighting specification market ecosystem operates
  • Residence within 40 miles of Sonoma (or a firm relocation plan).
  • Bonus points for LC certification (NCQLP), LEED accreditation, or an established network in health care and luxury residential design.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive base salary $95,000 - $115,000 (DOE) with performance incentives targeting $130,000 - $155,000 on target earnings (OTE); upside is uncapped for exceeding goals.
