Cavallo is seeking a pre-sales Sales Engineer to serve as a technical resource for its sales organization. The main objective will be helping align both new, as well as existing clients, with software solutions to meet their complex business needs. This role will work closely with the sales team, engaging with prospects to identify specific requirements, along with pain points that would be addressed with Cavallo products. Messaging for each technical product demo would be tailored to best connect with specific audiences, including both C-level, and end user alike. A successful candidate would exhibit a combination of technical abilities, an understanding of business best practices, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
As a Sales Engineer, the typical day includes:
- Supporting discovery calls with both prospective and current clients to determine scope and technical requirements for their strategic priorities.
- Properly aligning technical requirements with product modules to account for required use cases.
- Distill the pre-sales discovery into a concise message, outlining the salient technical, business, operational, and financial inefficiencies/challenges that Cavallo addresses with its products.
- Partnering cross-functionally to facilitate the pre and post sales engagements.
- Effectively demonstrating the product, and how it solves specific pain points, both in person and through virtual meetings, This includes a strong emphasis on customer-centricity, ensuring each demo directly addresses the client's unique needs, challenges, and desired outcomes, and showcasing how Cavallo's solutions provide tangible value specific to their business.
- Tailoring demo messaging to specific audiences such as C-level and end users alike.
- Also collaborating on demonstrations of Cavallo products through the use of presentations, existing customer solutions, white board, demos, and technical validation events.
- Preparing written documentation for implementation staff, outlining project scope and proof of concept setup and configurations discussed during pre-sales.
- Actively participate in all sales and regional meetings, QBRs, providing valuable contributions and technical leadership on many topics.
- Serving as a technical resource to answer any questions at any point in the project lifecycle, including Pre-Sales, Implementation, and Go Live.
This is the job for you if:
- You have 5+ years of experience in the technology SaaS software industry with 3+ years of proven experience serving as a pre-sales sales engineer role.
- You have a BS degree in business, computer science/engineering or a related field.
- You have basic knowledge with common software licensing practices (cloud, perpetual, maintenance, etc.).
- You have excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- You thrive working in a rapid growth environment where priorities, roles, and responsibilities are continuously updated to meet market and customer demands.
- You have the ability to work in an organized, procedural manner using such tools as to facilitate process and information organization.
- You have sales methodology experience (MEDDIC, TAS, SPIN, Solution Selling, Force Management).
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts, applications, or solutions, particularly as they apply to business processes or software integration, is highly desirable.
- ERP experience is a plus.
