We are seeking a motivated Sales Engineer to drive new business growth and manage long-term relationships with customers in designated sales regions. This individual will coordinate direct marketing and sales efforts, working cross-functionally to ensure customer needs are met. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the Sales Engineer will lead the planning and execution of commercial and government sales strategies.
Primary Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in alignment with strategic sales goals.
- Meet or exceed established sales and bookings targets.
- Provide guidance and support to sales representatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at customer organizations.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer applications and how company products support them.
- Create and present annual forecasts for sales and bookings.
- Monitor competitor activity and industry trends.
- Prepare and deliver customer and internal presentations.
- Manage regional travel and operating budgets.
- Contribute to pricing strategy and provide input on R&D opportunities.
- Support development of business plans that align with growth objectives.
- Travel approximately 40%, targeting 10 customer visits per month.
- Participate in technical and product training events.
- Drive five or more new projects per month.
- Assist with the development of exhibit and marketing materials.
- Take on special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience in the aerospace industry is required.
- Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in a technical discipline.
- At least 5 years of successful experience in technical sales, sales management, or engineering.
- Proven track record of new business development within a technical environment.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Effective communicator with excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to manage multiple priorities.
- High level of responsiveness and customer service orientation.
- Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance required.
- Reliable, team-oriented, and professional under pressure.
- Must be able to travel 25% or more as needed.
