Position: Director of Sales - SLED Market

As we continue to expand our presence in the State, Local Government, and Education (SLED) market, we are seeking a strategic and driven leader to join our team as the Director of Sales.

Location:
California (remote with frequent travel within the state).

Travel Requirement:
This role requires extensive travel across California to meet with clients and partners, ensuring success in growing the SLED market.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties:
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to grow GigaKOM's presence in the SLED market.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at schools, local agencies, and state government organizations.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding GigaKOM's market share within the SLED vertical.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design and deliver customized IT solutions that meet client needs.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of sales professionals, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with top manufacturers and distributors to deliver competitive and efficient solutions.
  • Travel across California to engage with clients, attend industry events, and support team initiatives.
Secondary Duties:
  • Contribute to proposal development and contract negotiations.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on sales performance and market trends.
Qualifications

Required:
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in IT sales, with a strong focus on the SLED market.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and growing sales pipelines and closing high-value deals.
  • Experience leading and managing sales teams to achieve measurable results.
  • Strong understanding of IT solutions, including networking, cabling, and enterprise technology.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with key stakeholders in the SLED sector.
  • Valid driver's license and flexibility for extensive travel within California.
Preferred:
  • Established connections with decision-makers in California's SLED market.
  • Experience working with or managing vendor partnerships.
  • Advanced understanding of bid processes and procurement within the public sector.
