Sales Development Representative
Location: San Francisco (Hybrid)
About TensorStax:
TensorStax is building fully autonomous AI systems to manage and optimize mission-critical data infrastructure. Our technology is redefining how organizations handle data pipelines, AI-driven automation, and self-healing systems.
We are looking for a Technical Sales Development Representative to drive our early-stage GTM motion. This is not a traditional sales role-it requires a deep technical understanding, high agency, and the ability to engage engineering leaders in meaningful conversations. The ideal candidate has a technical background, has built and sold technical products, or is a former founder with experience navigating complex, high-value sales cycles.
What You'll Do
- Own and execute outbound prospecting-identify, engage, and qualify technical buyers (CTOs, data engineers, infrastructure teams).
- Develop and refine technical messaging-translate complex AI and data engineering concepts into compelling narratives for different stakeholders.
- Lead high-value discovery calls-understand customer pain points and align our platform's capabilities to their needs.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to refine our GTM strategy based on customer insights.
- Continuously iterate and optimize our outbound playbook, testing new approaches for targeting, messaging, and engagement.
- Experiment with new business development channels, whether through content, technical evangelism, or community engagement.
- Drive the sales pipeline from first touch to qualified opportunity, ensuring a seamless handoff to the sales team.
What We're Looking For:
- Former founders, engineers, or highly technical sellers-you've built or sold technical products before.
- Experience selling technical products or engaging technical audiences (engineers, data teams, CTOs).
- Deep technical curiosity-you don't need to be an ML engineer, but you should be comfortable discussing AI, data engineering, and automation at a functional level.
- High agency-proactive, resourceful, and capable of navigating ambiguity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills-you can distill technical complexity into clear, compelling messaging.
- Proven ability to execute and iterate quickly, adapting outreach strategies based on feedback and data.
- Bonus Points
- Experience in AI, ML, or data engineering industries.
- Background in Python, data engineering, or cloud infrastructure (not required but valuable).
- Experience in early-stage GTM or scaling outbound strategies from scratch.
- Understanding of AI agentic workflows and data automation trends.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary + commission structure.
- 100% employer-covered health, dental, and vision insurance.
- 401(k) with company match.
- Access to Bay Club or Equinox in San Francisco.
- Opportunity to shape the GTM motion of a cutting-edge AI company.
