Sales/Business Development Manager for a technology-driven firm based in Nampa, Idaho, specializing in delivering practical solutions across multifamily, hospitality, retail, grocery, and commercial projects nationwide.
This position requires a hybrid work model, with time split between designated regional offices and remote work, alongside periodic travel to client sites and the Nampa, Idaho headquarters.
As a
Sales/Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving growth within our conventional construction sector. Based in key regional territories (Dallas/Fort Worth, Northern California, and Colorado), you'll generate new business, cultivate client relationships, and expand our footprint in traditional construction markets. Your responsibilities will include:
- New Business Development: Actively pursue and generate leads in the conventional construction market, particularly within commercial, multifamily, and retail sectors. Develop a pipeline of prospective clients seeking innovative yet practical engineering solutions.
- Client Relationship Management: Establish, nurture, and expand long-term client relationships by understanding their needs and positioning Prefab Logic Engineering as a leader in engineering solutions for conventional construction.
- Market Strategy and Territory Management: Develop a strategic approach for assigned territory to maximize coverage and close opportunities.
- Proposal Development and Presentations: Collaborate with the Managing Principal and technical team to develop tailored proposals, budgets, and presentations. Present proposals to clients, addressing any questions or concerns about project deliverables and execution.
- Collaboration with Technical Teams: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and technical leads to define project parameters and align expectations. Engage in project planning discussions to anticipate and address technical challenges.
- Sales Targets and Reporting: Set and meet annual sales targets, report on account activity, provide forecasts, and ensure alignment with company growth objectives.
- Industry Knowledge and Networking: Stay informed on industry trends and advancements in conventional construction. Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote Prefab Logic Engineering's expertise in traditional building systems.
Requirements - Experience: 5+ years of experience in B2B sales or business development within the conventional construction or engineering consulting industries. Familiarity with building systems and industry-specific challenges in conventional construction.
- Client Relationships: Proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships in conventional construction.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems, as well as conventional construction practices. Familiarity with HVAC systems, electrical components, building codes, and relevant industry standards is a plus.
- Sales Skills: Strong skills in lead generation, client relationship management, and value-based selling. Ability to qualify, pursue, and close high-value opportunities.
- Communication and Presentation: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to clearly present complex engineering concepts and project proposals to clients and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Tools: Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to utilize digital tools to manage client relationships and sales pipelines.
- Travel: Willingness to travel within the assigned territory and attend periodic meetings at the Nampa, Idaho headquarters as needed.
Preferred Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Conventional Construction: Familiarity with conventional construction techniques and an understanding of project management and client needs in this market.
- Network: Established network within the conventional construction sectors in Dallas/Fort Worth, Northern California, or Colorado.
