Material Good is a luxury retail destination specializing in collectible timepieces, fine jewelry, bespoke creations, and curated contemporary art. Located in the heart of SoHo, our flagship boutique is a destination for collectors and tastemakers seeking access to rare pieces and exceptional service. We are looking for a performance-driven Sales Associate to join our New York team and contribute to the growth of our timepiece business and overall client experience.


Role Overview


The salary listed is a base range and is not inclusive of our lucrative commission structure. As this is a sales focused role the monthly commission will be based on personal sales and performance.


As a Sales Associate at Material Good, you'll play an integral role in cultivating our watch clientele and driving sales across our portfolio of modern and vintage timepieces. You'll also support sales in fine jewelry and bespoke projects, offering clients a refined, personalized experience. You're someone who understands the nuance of the collector mindset, is well-versed in the high-end watch space, and thrives in a high-accountability, high-reward environment.


Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Revenue Generation


  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual individual sales goals with a primary focus on collectible timepieces (modern and vintage).
  • Drive both transactional and relationship-based sales, converting walk-ins, referrals, and appointments into repeat clients.
  • Proactively grow your pipeline through consistent client outreach, networking, and leveraging collector communities and events.
  • Educate your personal client book on Material Good's offerings-including timepieces, jewelry, and bespoke projects-and identify cross-category opportunities to deepen relationships.

Client Development & CRM Management

  • Develop and manage a robust portfolio of collectors and high-intent prospects, maintaining consistent follow-up and nurturing long-term loyalty.
  • Log detailed records in the CRM system including purchase history, preferences, and service needs.
  • Host private appointments both in-store and off-site, offering concierge-level service throughout the buying process.
  • Assist with trade-ins and sourcing requests, working closely with our watch team to deliver tailored solutions.

Client Experience & Community Building

  • Support watch-focused activations, events, and trunk shows-inviting key clients and prospects to engage with the brand.
  • Provide white-glove experiences including at-home appointments, hand deliveries, and tailored follow-up touchpoints.
  • Leverage existing networks or build new relationships within the New York luxury, art, and watch communities to acquire new clients.

Product Expertise & Floor Management

  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of all brands carried-especially within the independent and vintage watch categories.
  • Stay up to date on market trends, reference values, and emerging brands to guide and inform client conversations.
  • Support floor presentation, product rotation, and daily upkeep to ensure an elevated in-store experience.
  • Work cross-functionally with the watch and jewelry teams to ensure relevant and timely replenishment of high-demand inventory.

Operational Support & Sales Reporting

  • Accurately process POS transactions, returns, exchanges, repairs, and trade-ins.
  • Support back-end order logistics, authentication, and special sourcing needs for high-value watch sales.
  • Partner with the Boutique Manager to track personal sales performance, client development metrics, and strategic outreach goals.
  • Troubleshoot client service issues quickly and thoughtfully to protect long-term trust and retention.

What We're Looking For

  • A proven track record of high-performance sales in the luxury watch category; experience with vintage or independent brands is a major plus.
  • Deep understanding of the collector's mindset, and comfort selling in both traditional and secondary markets.
  • A strategic, self-driven approach to business development and clienteling.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and a habit of working in a data-informed, organized manner.
  • Familiarity with fine jewelry and bespoke projects, or willingness to learn and cross-sell across categories.
  • A polished, discreet presence with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Availability to work weekends and flexibility to accommodate seasonal client needs, events, and activations.
