Headquartered in the UK with multimillion $ business in the USA, the Solid State group is now embarking on the next stage of its expansion strategy within North America. Specifically, the distribution arm of the Group, Solid State, is looking to appoint a sales focused individual capable of managing and growing the business

Reporting to the Managing Director in the UK, the successful candidate will be sales focused and will drive towards building a strong foundation and future business within the USA. The role encompasses business leadership, and the successful candidate will be expected to support and manage our USA business. The remote nature of the business from the companies UK headquarters requires an individual with a strong work ethic, who is self motivated and an excellent communicator.
The Role
Manage and drive profitable revenue growth through the distribution channel in the USA.
Manage, drive and support the distribution field sales team in the USA.
Work closely with the Internal Sales and Operations Director.
Develop new business with current spending customers.
Develop new business with new customers.
Achieve and surpass the annual revenue and profit budget.
Ensure the effective and efficient running of the US Primary Distribution Centre.
Prepare and deliver Sales forecasts.
Ensure the USA distribution business is run profitably.
Manage and control costs for the USA distribution operation.
Produce monthly distribution business reports.
Develop a good understanding of the solid State Group capabilities.
From time to time be part of strategic working groups.
Key Skills/Competencies
A proven sales leader able to drive and support sales staff, reps and customers
A hands-on, practical salesperson with established industry contacts
Thorough knowledge of the USA rep/distributor/direct sales model
Technically competent in an Electronics discipline
Experience of managing face to face customer meetings
Some experience managing a field-based sales team.
Proven track record in developing new business wins and strategies to win.
