Role Purpose:
Selling natural and collagen casings to large sausage manufacturers through face-to-face consultative sales in a food production environment. As the Sales Account Manager, you will actively seek opportunities to grow the account and acquire new business. In addition, you will be responsible for the continued relationship management of our portfolio of clients in the Southwest region.
Customer satisfaction is key, and you will be passionate and results-driven in generating new relationships whilst building and maintaining long-lasting relationships with existing customers. If you have a proactive mindset, enjoy working independently whilst being part of a revenue driven team in a meat production environment, then this could be the role for you.
Responsibilities:
- Initiating sales and acquisition - be proactive for generating new sales opportunities, including acquisition of new customers.
- Relationship management - maintaining a network of important potential end users within the Southwest region. Organisation of events, regular visits to all relevant stakeholders within our client organisations etc.
- Provide accurate and timely supply of sales forecasts and sales orders to relevant departments.
- Sales administration - reporting on customer visits, sales results, customer database, market developments, product experiences and market strategy. Process these updates into the CRM system.
- Providing technical support and advice to customers and resolve any customer complaints.
- Market knowledge - being aware of and share market and product intelligence with the customer.
About you:
- You need to be based in the Southwest region (ideally within 150 miles radius from Los Angeles, CA)
- Previous experience or having an interest of selling into meat or other food processing plants is essential (meat would be highly desirable)
- Bachelors Degree in Business Management or related field is desirable but not essential
- Approximately 7+ years' experience in a sales/account management role is essential
- Capable of using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint would be beneficial
- Experience with CRM systems e.g. Salesforce, Qliksense, JDEdwards
- Must have strong influencing and negotiation skills, and you will be an excellent communicator
- Must be proactive, results-driven and adaptable in connecting with many different people to grow and generate new client accounts
- Ability to use creativity to sell and solve customer issues is vital, in addition, being able to handle conflict, prevent and resolve any issues
Business Travel Requirements:
You must be able to travel frequently in this role (between 25-50% travel), and you could be expected to travel at short notice on rare occasions, and by various means given the vast area of this region. Therefore, you will need to have a valid and clean driving licence.
