Job Summary: The Shift Leader at Salata plays a vital role in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant during their shift. This position involves leading and managing team members, ensuring high standards of customer service, maintaining operational efficiency, and upholding company policies. The ideal candidate is a natural leader with strong organizational and communication skills, capable of fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Leadership and Supervision:
- Lead, coach, and motivate team members to achieve excellent performance and provide exceptional customer service.
- Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring all team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Conduct opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, balancing the register, and securing the premises.
- Customer Service Excellence:
- Ensure all customers receive prompt, friendly, and courteous service.
- Address customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally, escalating to the Store Manager if necessary.
- Monitor dining area and food preparation stations for cleanliness and efficiency.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee food preparation to ensure quality, portion control, and adherence to Salata's recipes and standards.
- Maintain inventory levels, assist in ordering supplies, and manage waste to reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and cleanliness.
- Training and Development:
- Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and support to existing staff.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment, encouraging teamwork and communication.
- Identify and recommend improvements to processes and procedures for better efficiency and service.
- Reporting and Administration:
- Complete shift reports, including sales, labor, and inventory records.
- Assist the Store Manager with scheduling, payroll, and other administrative duties as needed.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures by all team members.
Qualifications: - Previous experience in a leadership role in the food service or hospitality industry preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in hospitality or management is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Skills: - Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and point-of-sale systems.
- Ability to handle cash and conduct transactions accurately.
