Job Title: Safety Systems Engineer

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 per annum.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities
  • Risk Assessment & Compliance: Lead comprehensive risk assessment workshops for new and enhanced products, ensuring adherence to management-of-change protocols.
  • Safety Requirements: Define and meticulously document functional safety requirements for autonomous products, integrating them into detailed validation checklists.
  • Control Implementation: Identify and execute essential safety controls to minimize risks and maintain strict compliance with industry norms.
  • Safety Audits: Conduct regular audits of automation products to confirm compliance with international safety regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Propose and implement enhancements to the company's safety management system, including change management processes.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead the investigation of safety-related incidents, ensuring that lessons learned are effectively integrated into functional safety validation.
  • Corrective Actions: Oversee the implementation of safety bulletins and confirm that corrective measures from risk assessments and incident investigations are thoroughly executed.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Extensive experience in functional safety, risk assessments, and compliance, particularly within the automation or autonomous sector.
  • Proficient in facilitating risk assessments within technical environments.
  • Solid understanding of international safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated capability to audit safety-critical products and promote improvements in safety management systems.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
