Position Overview:
Use your expertise to coach, counsel, and train experienced professionals in top industry safety and quality standards. In this role, you will work closely with specialists in each of our lines of business-inside electrical, communications, substation, and utility construction-maintaining regulations and perpetuating our safety-committed culture.

Location & Travel:
- This role will primarily be performed on site at various yard locations and customer project sites with very little need for overnight travel
- Consistent travel as necessary to other offices, yard locations, trainings, and offsite meetings
Responsibilities:
- Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of current industry standards, regulations, and work practices
- Communicate and coach Field and Admin professionals on industry and customer-specific safety requirements
- Conduct Safety Onboarding presentations with new hires (for Field and Admin positions)
- Further develop your skill set via on-the-job experience and training, professional certification programs, courses, and education
- Provide counsel regarding appropriate materials and tooling for projects to ensure safe and quality workmanship
- Review all contract documents for projects within your territory, familiarizing yourself with project-specific requirements, and monitor the pre-construction planning process
- Review Site-Specific Safety Plans with project managers and foremen and other appropriate Field leadership
- Attend project meetings as needed as a representative of IB Abel
Qualifications:
Required:
- Journeyman classification or Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school
- 3 years' related experience in safety or construction or equivalent training and education
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
Other:
- Valid driver's license required to operate company or personal vehicle for company business
- Must be able to present acceptable documents evidencing identity and employment authorizations per the Federal I-9 requirement
Desired:
- CUSP or other equivalent safety certification
- OSHA Outreach Instructor
