We are looking for a Safety Modeling and Digital Engineer to join our team in supporting the IFMC Performance Management Director. The Safety Engineer will provide Software and System Safety and Effectiveness performance engineering guidance and support to a US Army government project office (PO), ensuring adherence to applicable service and agency safety policies, criteria, and standards to support fielding to US Army locations. Your day-to-day work will include: Providing software, hardware and system expertise to integrate existing Model Based Engineering products with independent analysis and verification of IBCS software and hardware products. Using an advanced IBCS software and hardware specification based on Magic Draw products to rapidly gain expertise of the IBCS system to support Safety, Effectiveness and Verification activities. Being responsible for development, execution, and management of internal IBCS procedures and program plans. Traveling to both laboratory and operational test sites to assess system safety and eliminate existing hazards. Other duties as assigned. At a minimum you should have: US citizenship, and residency near Huntsville, AL, or be willing to relocate. An active Secret security clearance. A bachelor's degree in a STEM field. 5-10 years of relevant experience. Expert knowledge of safety principles, regulations, and practices including experience carrying out hazard control techniques as well as conducting risk analysis on weapons systems. Demonstrated experience applying DoD/Army policies and regulations for systems safety. Strong communications skills to effectively lead safety efforts. Experience demonstrating timely identification of hazards and initiation of actions necessary to eliminate or reduce the risk level. Experience developing, assessing, or managing a systems safety program for a DoD weapon system hardware or software. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products. The ability to think independently and be self-motivated, with proven organizational skills. The ability to multi-task and support varied assignments. Required to travel as needed to test sites and equipment locations (up to 25%). You will be highly desirable if you have: A master's degree in a STEM field. Experience with air and missile defense systems. Experience with application of system safety policies within programs using Agile software development and/or Model Based System Engineering.
