Position Overview
The Safety Manager will lead on-site safety efforts for a major civil project involving extensive taxiway construction, drainage improvements, and utility relocation as part of a multi-billion-dollar airport expansion program. This role includes oversight of 2-3 junior safety team members and coordination with subcontractors to maintain a proactive, compliant safety environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and enforcement of project-specific safety programs and procedures
- Supervise, mentor, and coordinate safety staff and subcontractors
- Conduct regular job site audits, hazard assessments, and incident investigations
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, FAA, and internal safety standards
- Provide training, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to site personnel
- Collaborate with project leadership and external stakeholders to support safe execution
- Participate in night shifts or phased operations as needed (e.g., concrete pours)
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of safety experience in civil infrastructure or heavy construction
- Experience managing safety on high-value, multi-discipline projects (aviation preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of applicable federal and local safety regulations
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
- Safety certifications such as CHST, CSP, or OSHA 30/500-hour are a plus
