A leading multi-national manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Safety Manager to join their team in Anderson, SC.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, The Safety Manager will be responsible for all aspects of developing and implementing health and safety programs, driving safety culture, leading process improvement, as well as ensuring safety compliance.
This position is designed for a creative leader capable of partnering in strategic risk management plans across all safety matters.
The Role:
- Serve as a subject matter expert supporting all levels of the organization. Partnering in decisions on technical, regulatory, and cultural issues related to safety policy, programs and procedures.
- Lead continuous improvement in health and safety processes.
- Lead the development, scheduling, implementation and auditing for Occupational Health & Safety as well as risk management training.
- Act as site Occupational Health & Safety lead in the development and deployment of corporate safety management system infrastructure.
- Provide clear and effective direction and support for all direct reports.
- Lead emergency management and response programs.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge in federal, state and local safety and health regulations, and related consensus standards.
The Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering or related field required.
- 5+ years of health and safety management experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability of managing a team of direct reports.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, able to interface with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Successful creation, implementation and/or administration of a health and safety management system (BSI 18001 / ISO 45001) preferred.
