Position Summary:

  • Location: Primarily field-based, with more than half of the work in Texas
  • Position Type: Potential for temp-to-perm based on performance
  • Company Vehicle: Not provided (Candidate must pass an MVR; may receive a rental vehicle)

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Implement and maintain company safety and health procedures on a moderately complex project
  • Perform medium to high complexity safety-related tasks and potentially supervise other safety professionals
  • Administer and maintain the project Drug and Alcohol Substance Abuse Program
  • Develop and conduct employee safety and health training programs
  • Conduct detailed site safety inspections
  • Manage project security contracts, programs, and policies
  • Maintain record-keeping and filing functions
  • Conduct incident and injury/illness investigations and prepare detailed reports
  • Complete all necessary safety and health program documentation
  • Interface with clients and government officials
  • Oversee construction contractor safety and health program administration
  • Administer worker's compensation programs and procedures
  • Serve as a Safety and Health Consultant for internal and external clients
  • Potentially act as on-site first aid and medical provider
  • Provide supervision, training, development, and performance management for direct reports
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and change management

Qualifications:

  • Certification from BCSP (minimum CHST)
  • Experience in transmission, distribution, or substation projects

Preferred:

  • Strong knowledge of safety and health standards and practices
  • Understanding of substance abuse policies, worker's compensation policies, and construction contracting strategies
  • Experience in safety and health consultation
  • Ability to perform first aid/medical functions
  • Strong communication and conflict management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel (spreadsheets), and report writing
  • Ability to effectively interface with clients and government officials
  • Certifications & Training (Preferred):
  • First Aid & CPR Certified
  • Drug Testing Certified
  • OSHA 500/501
  • OSHA 10-Hour
  • Safety and Health Program Administration
