Position Summary
The Safety Director will lead the content portion of Safety Plus's tech-enabled services organization, driving safety innovation and enhancing client programs through the strategic use of Safety Plus's products and solutions. This senior role is designed for a visionary safety professional with deep experience in safety program oversight, technology-driven services, and a strong ability to influence both internal teams and external client outcomes. The Safety Director will ensure that Safety Plus's solutions deliver measurable safety improvements, foster continuous program growth, and maintain a high standard of compliance for clients.
Essential Functions
The Safety Director will oversee program management and client enablement initiatives, ensuring that Safety Plus's technology and services deliver effective safety outcomes for clients. Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Implement and continuously improve the strategic safety vision of Safety Plus's tech-enabled services, using the company's proprietary products to enhance service delivery.
- Lead the development and maintenance of scalable safety programs and processes that align with client goals, regulatory compliance, and Safety Plus's product offerings.
- Set and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and improve client safety performance across various industries
- Define, implement, and utilize PSA to measure and monitor internal team data collection
- Product Integration & Enablement
- Ensure that Safety Plus's products, such as SafetyPlusWeb (SPW/SPE), are fully leveraged in client safety programs to optimize compliance and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with product teams to provide feedback and drive enhancements, ensuring that product updates align with client needs and field insights.
- Utilize data insights from Safety Plus's products to guide clients in improving safety programs, identify risk trends, and recommend proactive safety strategies.
- Program Management & Client Success
- Oversee the delivery of tech-enabled safety services, ensuring that client safety programs are proactive, right sized, and tailored as appropriate to each client's unique operational context.
- Lead a team of Safety Managers, Account Managers, Coordinators, and Specialists in implementing best practices, conducting training, and performing assessments that foster ongoing client success.
- Engage with key clients to understand their safety challenges, providing high-level guidance and ensuring their programs evolve to meet industry standards and organizational goals.
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing safety data, identifying trends, and driving enhancements in service delivery and client engagement.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to ensure Safety Plus's offerings remain cutting-edge and effective.
- Compliance Oversight & Risk Management
- Ensure that all client programs meet OSHA, USDOT, MSHA, and other relevant safety standards, utilizing Safety Plus's solutions to streamline and track compliance.
- Oversee the management of incidents, investigations, and corrective actions, ensuring that insights are fed back into both client programs and product development.
- Build and maintain a robust compliance tracking system using Safety Plus's tools, ensuring that clients maintain ongoing adherence to regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA, USDOT, and MSHA, with a proven ability to apply these to diverse client environments.
- Expertise in managing safety programs and teams, with a strong track record of driving client success and continuous safety improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate technology into safety operations.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and direct a team of safety professionals and account managers to deliver high-quality, tech-enabled safety services.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with experience engaging with clients, understanding their needs, and translating them into effective safety strategies.
- Client Alignment & Service Maximization: Adept at taking client needs, capacity, and system capabilities into account to right-size services and ensure maximum value within contractual boundaries. Skilled in identifying upsell opportunities when additional services would benefit the client and align with business goals.
- Analytical mindset, with proficiency in using data insights to drive decision-making and improvements in safety services and product utilization.
Education & Experience
- 8+ years of experience in safety program management, with a focus on leveraging technology in safety services.
- Preferred - bachelor's degree in occupational safety or a related field (advanced degree or certifications like CSP or CIH are a plus).

Working Conditions
- This role may require travel to client sites to oversee program implementations and conduct high-level assessments.
- Flexible work environment with a mix of office-based, remote, and on-site client work as needed.
