The Division of Rheumatology in the Department of Medicine is seeking a BC/BE rheumatologist for a full -time appointment in a rapidly growing program which is part of a multispecialty academic practice setting. Responsibilities will include patient care on the inpatient consultative service, the outpatient practice, on-call coverage and teaching. Musculoskeletal Ultrasound expertise is desirable. There may be opportunities for focused research. Excellent clinical and teaching skills are required as instruction of medical students, residents and fellows is integral to our clinical program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- To see New and Follow-up patient visits, including consultations on the inpatient Rheumatology service.
- To see patients in the outpatient Rheumatology faculty practice.
- To be assigned inpatient service time, ie: twelve weeks, with final determination made by the Division Chief.
- These activities will comprise 90% Clinical FTE (cFTE), including both inpatient service at RWJUH and the outpatient Rheumatology faculty practice.
- To submit clinical charges and patient notes in a timely manner.
- 10% of the time, will participate in scholarly activities, such as teaching of Fellows, Residents, Medical students; Research and Quality Improvement projects; and scientific presentations and publications.
- To participate in education and training of Medical Students, Residents, Fellows, and all academic and clinical activities of the Division as assigned by the Division Chief.
- To participate in appropriate Department of Medicine and Medical School committees.
- To attend Division and Departmental meetings, including but not limited to faculty meetings, Grand Rounds and Resident/Fellowship recruitment sessions.
- To participate in other duties as assigned by the Division Chief and/or Department Chairman.

The anticipated salary range for this position if hired to work is $240,000 to $250,000 per year.
