About Astra Innovations

Astra Innovations is a fast-growing energy tech company supporting the oil and gas industry through intelligent, real-time analytics. Our flagship platform, Animo, empowers drilling, completions, and well services teams by seamlessly integrating high-frequency EDR data with reporting data, and applying AI-native insights to help engineers make faster, smarter decisions. We are driven by one mission: empower our customers to take their time back.

As part of our global growth, we are seeking a Drilling RTOC Specialist to join our Real-Time Operations Center (RTOC). You'll work at the heart of operations, supporting live wells and optimizing performance through a mix of engineering expertise, technology fluency, and operational discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor live drilling and completion operations in real time, identifying anomalies and proactively communicating early warnings per client protocols.
  • Use well engineering modeling tools (Landmark Suite or similar) to conduct trajectory planning, anti-collision checks, torque and drag, and hydraulics modeling.
  • Apply Animo to augment workflows, streamline insights, and support engineers with fast, high-confidence decisions.
  • Evaluate wellbore stability, formation data, MWD/LWD logs, surface sensor data, and geosteering inputs to support performance and mitigate risk.
  • Contribute to D&C optimization through real-time data analysis and engineering modeling.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Petroleum Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in drilling and completions operations, including real-time operations or support roles.
  • Proficient with EDM platforms and well modeling tools (e.g., COMPASS, WELLPLAN, OpenWells).
  • Demonstrated understanding of well control, mud volume management, kick detection, and early-warning signs.
  • Solid knowledge of vendor system environments, databases, data architectures, and IT infrastructure relevant to RTOC operations.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Available to work 12-hour shifts on a 28 days on / 28 days off rotation.
