About the Opportunity:
• Job Title: Round Sling and Sewing Machine Operator
• Pay Rate Range: $18.50-21/Hour
• Location: St Paul, MN
• Schedule: 1st Shift, Mon-Fri 8AM-4:30PM
• Position Type: Temp to Hire Requirements and Qualifications:
- Sewing experience required: Industrial or at-home.
- Previous machine operator experience - this is not required.
- Previous MFG experience preferred.
- Attention to detail.
- Basic math
- Need to be able to read a tape measure.
- Comfort using hand tools: wrench and screwdrivers.
- Must be able to lift between 30lbs - 70lbs, team lifts may be required.
Duties and Responsibilities: Machine Operator:
- Installing material (Slings) and yarn to the machine.
- Setting machine up to proper length according to order.
- Measuring material to proper length according to order.
- 4 different types of slings: Red, Yellow, Blue, and Purple, all made for different weights.
- Programming and operating the controls to make the slings.
- Performing small maintenance on machine from time to time.
- Thorough inspection of material.
Industrial Sewing:
- Sewing tags and labels on the slings.
- Must keep an eye on sewing patterns - Mike will demonstrate the proper pattern.
- Ensuring stitches are evenly apart according to the guidelines.
- Thorough inspection of material.
- Will be using an Industrial Sewing Machine.
Misc. Duties
- Must be willing to do repetitive tasks.
- Labeling and packaging.
- Some Shipping operations.
