JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition: Rose Tavern Bartender (Seasonal)
Reports to: Food & Beverage Director
Job Summary: Prepare bar and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure that all laws are applicable to beverage operations are consistently followed. Attend trainings as required.
- Complies with all health, safety standards, and policies.
- Opens the bar register and all other bar set-up procedures.
- Remain on-site and in control of the bar area through the bar closing process of each scheduled shift.
- Work closely and professionally with the entire staff of servers to ensure excellent products and services are delivered to all guests. Bar staff is expected to contribute to the execution of service for given meal period scheduled. For example, polishing glassware, making service orders, running food, folding napkins, and any and all tasks assigned.
- Inspect and stock glasses, napkins, and all traditional bar equipment and supplies to avoid interruption of guest service during scheduled operations. Requests additional supplies as necessary.
- Stocks all product and prepares garnishes for beverages.
- Maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of bar areas, glassware, and equipment through regular inspections.
- Greets guests. Provides pleasant and efficient service to guests.
- Mixes, prepares, and serves drinks according to the approved recipes.
- Aids in the preparation of syrups, infusions, and batching of bar materials.
- Follows standard operating procedures to help ensure that bars are set up and operated with efficiency and minimum labor and cost sales.
- Collects cash, credit cards, or signed charge checks for all drinks served.
- At the end of each schedule shift, empties trash and recycle, cleans equipment, cleans all bar surfaces, restocks glasses and supplies, secures all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and deposit closeout of the bar register.
- Requires ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.
- Receives and serves food orders to guests seated at the bar.
- Tip cash should be put away and is not permitted to be visible to guests.
- Document shift activities in bar log at the end of each shift.
- Performs any additional tasks as required.
Job Requirements:
- One year experience required in previous bartender position.
- Must be able to demonstrate effective communication.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
